1920s Japan

I'm trying to figure out what it was like to grow up in 1920/30s Japan. I think I'm going to interview my grandmother at some point in this, but I'm doing a more cursory look at references in the meantime.

  1. I lost my father in 1990 at the age of 80. He survived the 1923 Kanto earthquake (he was 14 at the time). I am now putting together a story of what it was like in 1923 Tokyo and I really wish I had talked to him more. The more memories you can get from your grandmother the more memories she will remember. Do not wait. Research now so you know what kind of questions to ask her. Good luck. Arthur Murata age 67
